 KASHMIR NEWS OBSERVER

As per the protest programme of the unified resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, a large number of resistance leaders and activists staged a peaceful protest demonstration outside Kashmir’s historical Jamia Masjid Srinagar against India’s anti-Kashmir policies and decisions taken against the people of Kashmir both at the administrative and judicial levels.

Besides the large participation of people, resistance leaders and workers including Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Jaffar Kashmiri, Abdul Rashid Untoo, Abdul Majid Wani, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Muhammad Sheikh Khan, Imtiyaz Haider, Prof. Javed, Sheikh Yasir Dalaal, Sirajuddin, Umar Adil Dar and Firdous Shah participated in the protest demonstration.
On the occasion, the protestors strongly objected to the decision of a lower court of Kolkatta, West Bengal of awarding capital punishment to Muzaffar Ahmad Rather of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and said the court’s decision was yet another example of murder of justice of Kashmiris by the Indian courts.
They raised voice against the anti-Kashmir policies being executed by Government of India and its local collaborators in Jammu Kashmir by using brute force to suppress a peaceful and just struggle of Kashmiri people and their resistance leaders.
The protestors said Kashmiris had given selfless sacrifices of lives and properties for their right to self determination despite the government sparing no tool at its disposal to crush them with brute force, violence and aggression although these tactics had never yielded desired results for New Delhi in the past nor would they do so in the future.
They said Kashmir issue is a living reality and as long as New Delhi would push the issue under the carpet, South Asia would continue to witness an atmosphere of uncertainty, leaving no room for peace, prosperity and fast-track development of the region.
Stressing that Kashmiris had every right to protest against oppression, injustices and gross human rights violations, the protestors said it was the moral responsibility of the international community to take serious steps to help stop injustices, oppression and victimization of Kashmiris instead of merely indulging in statements of concern.
